Construction Workshop
Two days workshop on COST EFFECTIVE CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES was held on 5th and 6th of JANUARY 2018 at PrimeNest college of Architecture and Planning . Er.Rajendran , Consulting Civil Engineer from Thanjavur , specialised in Cost effective construction techniques demonstrated various techniques and shared his valuable ideas and experiences from the construction field.He also guided the students to fabricate FILLER SLAB, BRICK DOME AND TWISTED COLUMNS
Climatology workshop
Two day workshop on climatology was held on 11th and 12th of august 2017 at Primenest college of architecture and planning .We received an overwhelming response of participants from various schools of architecture.The main objective of the workshop is to train the students to design shading devices for different climatic zones using emprical methods, sun path diagram/shadow angle protractor, heliodon and simultations methods.
We would like to thank all the participants from Bharat university -chennai, RVS school of architecture dindugal ,Dhanalakshmi srinivasan school of architecture -perambalur and practising architects from Auro creations ,Aurovile pondicherry.
Prime Nest College of Architecture and Planning has organized a Workshop on Design and Construction of Geodesic Dome.
The main objective of this workshop is to understand the structural principle coined by Fuller as TENSEGRITY, which means the loads are transmitted by the combination of tension and / or compression of the members.
Prime Nest College of Architecture and Planning Organized One week Summer Workshop from 18-05-2017 to 23-05-2017 . on” LEARNING BUILDING MATERIALS THROUGH TACTILITY”.
The Objective of the Workshop is to under stand the physical properties of materials through hands on Experience.
The students had a hands on experience on Site Marking, usage of masonry tools for construction, mixing of motor, understanding the mechanism of Load transfer in Buildings through construction of walls, and arches ..
The students were also demonstrated bar bending techniques, footings, fabrication of column and beams.
Bamboo workshop :
On 10th and 11th of February 2017, a two day workshop was conducted on Bamboo joinery and construction, In which around 60 students from the neighbouring colleges participated and students mastered bamboo joinery techniques and created many wonderful artifacts in Bamboo.
